Just one. A model is built from a single product photo in two clicks, and the photos already on your product pages will do.
No. You don’t need 3D files, design software or code. Install the app from the Shopify App Store, then it’s a product photo and a couple of clicks. In special cases you can even do without Shopify.
Nothing. The model opens on the product page in an ordinary browser, where shoppers can turn it, zoom in and look at it from any side. No apps or plugins needed. Just open your product: once uploaded, the 3D model appears among its previews. Make sure your store’s Shopify theme shows 3D models.
How Shopify shows 3D modelsYou can start for free. Every month your free balance is topped up to 100 credits, enough for 3–6 models.
More models and 3D showrooms you can publish. Basic is $16.99 a month for 20–40 models. Pro is $41.99 for 50–100 models and a higher place in the generation queue. Pay for a year and get 1 month free.
You can move to a higher plan, buy a credit pack or wait for next month’s top-up. Credits from packs don’t expire at the end of the month.
Yes. The app works with your current theme, models are published right in your store, and the subscription is paid through your Shopify bill.

Check that your store’s theme can show 3D models. Shopify adds the model to the product’s media, among its previews, but not every theme displays them. If your theme supports them and the model still doesn’t show, update the theme to its latest version. If that doesn’t help, write to us and we’ll sort it out.
How Shopify shows 3D modelsMCP is an open protocol AI assistants such as Claude and Codex use to connect to services. Through it an assistant reads your showroom, takes photos and 3D models from your store, prepares changes and shows a draft right in the editor. It saves only once you approve. More in the launch post.
Add the server address to your client: https://freakout.ai/api/mcp/account Then sign in to Freakout AI in the browser: choose your store, check the permissions and press Allow. To have the assistant work in a particular showroom, open it in the editor, press Agent access and paste the copied prompt into the client.
Nothing you can’t undo. It only shows drafts, saves after you approve, and never overwrites your unsaved edits. It spends credits within the limit you set and can’t buy them, change your subscription or publish a showroom. You can switch it off at any time in Agent access, and its access ends at once.
Yes. That is how the rooms in the MCP launch post were built: two houses in Monmouth and a flat in Lyon, from listing floor plans and a developer’s plan. The plan’s dimensions set the scale, and the layout follows the drawing.
